Learn how we can use Biophilic Design in city and town planning, every workplace, school, hospital simply. How we retrofit Biophilic Design and now aim to weave Biophilic Design into the very fabric of buildings and cities from the outset before ground is broken and cement mixed.
Our conference will have three main threads. People, Planet and Economy.

Speakers include Oliver Heath, Dr Sally Augustin, Professor Derek Clements-Croome, BIID, Chatham House, Julian Treasure, Clare Bowman, Mary Colwell, Dr Nigel Oseland, Dr Joanne Leach, Dr Vanessa Champion, spokespeople, researchers and practioners  from the NHS, Buildings with Nature, Nature in Cities, Living Futures, Architectural Technologists, RTPI, RIBA, and more.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development outlines 5Ps, and Biophilic Design should be viewed as the essential key to unlocking these goals: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership. Our inaugural conference will focus on the first three:

People

Wellbeing starts right in the very home and city you live in as well as the place you work. Biophilic Design is the essential key to creating spaces and places where we will flourish in every sense of the word: from better scores at school through to faster recovery rates in hospitals, better sleep, enhanced perception, increased creativity, reduced stress, lower heart-rate and blood pressure, and so much more.

Planet

Learn and share research and practice - how Biophilic Design can successfully mitigate the climate crisis, from the obvious of using less concrete right through to reducing flood risks, increasing biodiversity and reducing heat islands and temperatures in cities, better air quality, less air and sound pollution, supporting the wildlife and nature, the earth, air and water we are so dependent on.

Prosperity

Biophilic Design brings an increase in productivity, reduces presenteeism, absenteeism, improves employee wellbeing, reduces crime, creates better education systems, reduces food miles, reduces strain on our NHS and healthcare systems, increases real-estate value, encourages more sales in retail. The list is surprising... and endless, evidenced and proven.
